Nature Surrounds Us

“When we recall the imagery of sunlight glistening on the surface of a pond or leaves coursing through the air on a windy afternoon or indistinct creatures shuttling through murky waters of a creek bed, our breath can be taken away by the awe and beauty of what we see in these brief moments. Time seems to stand still.

“In my monotypes, I hope to represent a still point where the reasoning mind stops briefly to observe the abundance of nature and to return to these places that are deeply familiar and easily overlooked in the busyness of our lives. The multiple layers of ink that I apply onto each monotype attempts to represent the complexity of nature and the changes that each season adds to that complexity.”
